Director of Critical Care ICU- Round Rock, TX

Location : 2400 Round Rock Avenue, Round Rock, TX 78681

Project Duration : Fulltime Permanent

Relocation eligible

beds: 22 in ICU, 34 beds in IMC & 25 beds open in Telemetry - oversight of all 3 areas. Dedicated Managers in each of the 3 areas.

FTEs:55 in department w/ 1 Manager

4:1 patient ratios

Types of patients: IC

Patient Population served: no peds

Take call: no - intermediate care unit & telemetry floor too

Staff Shifts: standard

Ideal Candidate: BSN

RRMC has huge cardiovascular population- 300 heart surgeries completed in 2023

Department Description

Client Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at Client. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, women's services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility.

Job Summary:

The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.

You will cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensure adherence to standards of care.

You will manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.

You will ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.

You will stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations and actively pursues efforts to achieve.

You will stay abreast of legal and regulatory standards and ensures compliance. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards.

You will ensure equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.

You will ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high quality, patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning.

You will develop care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care. Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and across departments and ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.

You will direct nursing practice and unit operations. Develops policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family needs are assessed, met, and evaluated.

You will provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience.

You will instill accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader.

You will leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction. Develop and implement strategies to elevate the patient experience.

You will provide leadership to execute a strategic roadmap designed to enhance patient experience and achieve optimal outcomes.

You will collaborate with subject matter experts and patient experience leaders to ensure compliance with evidence-based practices that enhance patient experience and customer service.

Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support

Registered Nurse

Bachelors Degree or other approved education plan required

Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred

Master's Degree preferred
