Director of Credit, Collections and AR

Our client is a leading construction company organization based in the Chicagoland. Being privately held they are one of the largest players in their space with locations all across the United States. They are in need of a Director of Credit, Collections and AR to round out their team. This is a new position which will oversee all collections.They are looking for someone with good technology skills, leadership and ability to make and take on process improvements with a new ERP system. They need to be able to be personable to establish and maintain internal and external business partners.
  • Establish collection, trial balance aging and support goals & metrics for the AR team.
  • Advanced familiarity with accounts receivable, cash apps and invoicing is required.
  • Assume ownership of the quarterly AR Review process with the Sales force
  • Coordinate AR approval pricing while ensuring compliance with company guidelines and maintaining sound business judgment
  • Daily review and analysis of accounts' status to provide appropriate follow-up with regards to overdue payments - determine correct course of action necessary to collect past due balance
  • Develop strong relationships with all stakeholders in regards to collections and other accounts receivable functions
  • Responsible for credit evaluation and creation of accounts in our system
  • Provide support to the leadership team as needed
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for management
  • Identity process improvement opportunities and lead related change implementation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting is preferred
  • 10+ years in Accounts Receivable functions, with 3+ years of supervisory experience required
  • Must have a professional attitude and ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to contribute creative and impactful ideas that will shape the department and provide clear direction to all team members
  • Having productivity under deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while working independently and as a team member
  • Review current processes and create efficiencies, as well as suggest alternative methods/procedures
  • Ability to evaluate talent and work with key personnel to improve performance
  • Multi-task, set project priorities, and demonstrate initiative required
  • Occasional travel may be expected to visit customers and resolve open AR issues
Annual Compensation: $ 125,000 - $ 150,000 Base Salary + Bonus
