Director of Collections subprime consumer finance

We are seeking a professional to join their executive team and lead their collections efforts. We are seeking an experienced Director of Collections to lead the collections department that collects mainly on subprime automotive loans (link removed)>
This position offers great challenges and opportunities. We are seeking candidates with proven ability to meet / exceed KPI goals. Our Director of Collections will inherit a competent staff that needs leadership and support. We are seeking a leader who can develop their Collection Supervisors who will be training, managing and leading their collection staff and holding them accountable for their progress. Developing a more professional and result-oriented culture within the department is a component of the job challenge.
To ensure a great fit for both the candidate and the finance company, we are seeking candidates with the following experiences/ abilities / traits:
- 5 to 7 years collections management experience
- subprime consumer or automotive finance collections management experience required
ability to lead a 20+ person collections department
proven ability to develop people and take them to higher level is an essential ingredient to success in this position
- proven superior performance we will ask you about your accomplishments.
- strong leadership skills are a must
- we are seeking that rare candidate who is a natural strategic thinker, yet very hands-on and believes in walking the floor to be visible to collections staff
- ability to make presentations to senior management
- technologically savvy with ability to learn and leverage their system
- proactive leader who will seek out potential problems and opportunities
- high energy with a natural sense of urgency
- ability to relocate to San Antonio, Texas
Great experience can include Collections leadership position with nonprime consumer lender, small through large subprime automotive finance company or captive auto lender.
