Director of Clinical Education

The Director of Education manages the Bayfront Health Education Department and is responsible for the organization, administration, continued development, evaluation and effectiveness of educational programs presented to staff, physicians, patients, families and caregivers, and the community. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the on line learning system as well as the organization and provision of staff instruction. The incumbent acts as a liaison to educational institutions and coordinates student rotation schedules with the hospital directors. The incumbent manages the American Red Cross resuscitation processes for BLS, ALS, and PALS programs and instructors. In addition to coordinating CE opportunities for staff, works closely with Human Resources to manage the onboarding, General Orientation, and nursing orientation processes. As an active member of the Chest Pain Committee, the Educator provides heart health education for staff and the community. The incumbent takes an active role in supporting staff development and retention, and is responsible for not only collaboration on development and retention initiatives, but also develops innovative approaches to improve the program's effectiveness. Education: Master of Science degree in Nursing Experience: Five years of experience in patient care nursing. Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial and collaborative relationship with other health care team members in the promotion and provision of comprehensive patient care. Mastery of principles and practice of nursing required. Mastery of adult education techniques required. Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills using the English language required. Independent judgment, organizational ability and initiative are required. Leadership experience required. PC skills for word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software required.
