Job Summary Directs the Cancer Center departmental activities and resources to ensure alignment with the organization mission, strategic imperatives, core commitments, and goals. Directs Cancer Center operations, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and daily activities. Job Responsibilities Develops Cancer Center department goals and objectives consistent with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC), American College of Radiology (ACR) standards of care, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system. Manages and evaluates cancer center operations, including patient care delivery, information technology, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Prepares departmental operating and capital budgets and ensures that the cancer center operates within allocated funds. Manages variances and reports appropriately. Builds a business case for any growth opportunities or changes within budget. Coordinates and directs internal and externally-driven audits. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, corrective actions, and continued education. Maintains close collaboration with all departments and clinical areas to ensure streamlined operations of patient care activities and quality of care. Manages physician relationships in accordance with the organization strategic imperatives and core commitments. Manages, facilitates and develops processes that focus on employee and patient satisfaction. Serves as an oncology expert on department and hospital committees and projects. Stays up to date and implements processes consistent with applicable regulatory standards. Develop leadership utilizing coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Supports and develops growth strategies. Participates in provider recruiting and onboarding. Creates an inclusive environment. Promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Qualifications Master degree or higher in Healthcare Administration required upon hire OR Master degree or higher in related field required upon hire A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 5 years experience in Cancer Center leadership required If degree is in clinical field of study, current licensure or certification in clinical specialty required upon hire Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Possesses exceptional communication skills. Ability to lead with humility and cultivate a culture of trust. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Demonstrate initiative, imagination, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking. Ability foster positive working relationships. Extensive knowledge of Oncology operations including best practices, regulations, and procedures.
