Wiss is seeking a dynamic Director of Assurance Operations to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our employees have a consistent and meaningful experience aligned with Wiss's standards, while also helping to drive value-driven client service through operational excellence, innovation, technology adoption, and process optimization. This position reports to the CEO, President, and COO.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and People:

Collaborate with the executive leadership team to execute strategic initiatives that drive the Assurance department's success and growth.

Act as a key liaison between leadership team and assurance department members, ensuring a consistent Wiss experience that enables career growth and development, in alignment with Assurance Department and Wiss goals.

Collaborate with leadership to support the department's talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention.

Evaluate individual strengths and project requirements for optimal resource allocation, training opportunities and enhanced performance.

Empower team members to excel in their roles by aligning tasks with their areas of expertise.

Optimize workflows and monitor workloads to ensure even distribution of tasks and prevent overburdening of team members.

Product Ownership for Assurance Technology:

Assist with the evaluation, selection, and implementation of cutting-edge assurance software, tools, and technological solutions to enhance productivity and service delivery, alongside other department stakeholders and the tech transformation team.

Ensure successful adoption of technology solutions across the department, providing guidance and support to team members.

Process Optimization and Innovation:

Identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation within assurance operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain best practices.

Help build systems to allow for better performance visibility between the assurance department and firm leadership.

Monitor and review overall performance and efficiency of assurance engagements; become a champion for performance standards and efficiency.

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and standards to drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management:

Act as the primary point of contact for all assurance operations-related matters (technology, resource planning, process, personnel), coordinating efforts between internal teams, external vendors, and relevant stakeholders.

Act as a key liaison between the department and other key areas of the firm such as other service lines, People Operations, Technology, and Tech Transformation teams, fostering seamless communication and collaboration.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business or similar field

8+ years in operations, human resources or related.

Public Accounting Firm experience highly preferred (ideally Assurance).

Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership abilities.
