Focus Capital is supporting its health technology division by introducing a new head of Digital Analytics and Data Science to push the boundaries of data innovation and leverage its capabilities to maximize revenue generating opportunities. In this role, you will lead approx. 15-20 data scientists, data engineers, business intelligence and software engineering professionals to create new digital products and roadmaps to unearth key insights for revenue generation and also push towards a new standard of innovation within the organization.
This is a chance to apply new and emerging concepts in data science, ML and AI, such as Gen AI / LLM, to make a Fortune 500 division more profitable and innovative. The ideal person will have prior hands-on experience in data science, analytics and AI, but a recent history of digital product management, leadership and driving organizational change. You will also foster an environment of mentorship to data professionals and establish best practices within the data science and data engineering teams.
The terms 'data analytics' and 'data science' are thrown around a lot; but this is a chance to use analytics and data science to make money for a close-knit Fortune 500 division. Communications skills are of high importance, as you will interface with key stakeholders including C-level executives and directors of a Fortune 500 company and also lead 15-20 data and technology professionals.
This role can be fully-remote or hybrid from the NY/NJ area. If remote, you will travel onsite once per quarter.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in the fields of data science and data analytics.
- Understanding of emerging data science and analytics concepts (i.e. Gen AI / LLM)
- Ability to translate business needs into thoughtful data/technology use cases and products.
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience (this role manages 15-20 data professionals)
- Prior experience in predictive analytics using Python, PySpark, etc.
- Professional experience in digital product management
- Strong SQL experience
- DevOps / ML Ops experience is a plus
- Experience in an Azure ecosystem is a plus.
- Experience with Tableau data visualization.
- Excellent communication skills and project management experience
- A masters degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, mathematics, or another technical degree, or 10+ years of professional experience in the field.
