Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a prestigious Level I Trauma Hospital in Tucson, AZ to find a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Director to lead their vital laboratory operations.

About the Opportunity:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly qualified Laboratory Director to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and innovation of a Level I Trauma Hospital's laboratory services. You will provide strategic leadership and oversight, fostering a collaborative environment that delivers exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all aspects of the hospital laboratory, including clinical, anatomic pathology, and blood banking.

Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive laboratory policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs in accordance with CLIA and The Joint Commission standards.

Ensure the laboratory operates efficiently and effectively, meeting all regulatory requirements and budget goals.

Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing laboratory team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in laboratory medicine and implement new technologies to enhance testing capabilities and patient care.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal treatment plans.

Participate in hospital committees and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty that meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor.

Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Allied Health Specialty or Health Administration/Business.

Minimum Experience:

Medical Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of progressive supervisory/management experience in a complex laboratory setting, preferably within a hospital environment.

Preferred Experience: Prior Laboratory Director experience is a strong plus.

Required Certifications/Licensure:

Certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent board certification.

Current Arizona State Licensure as a Medical Technologist (MT) or a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).

Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Proven track record of success in achieving operational excellence and quality improvement initiatives.

Commitment to patient safety and providing high-quality laboratory services.

Proficient in laboratory information systems (LIS) and relevant laboratory software.
