YOUR POSITION AT BGCGW

The Director, Corporate Giving serves as a member of BGCGW's Resource Development team and reports to our Chief Development Officer. You administer and execute fundraising plans to aggressively increase our operational budgeted corporate revenue more than 10% year-over-year. You build new and increased revenue BGCGW's corporate giving program via partnerships and event sponsorships. You oversee the identification, cultivation, solicitation and negotiation of corporate partnerships. We envision you closing $500k in upgrades/new gifts year one and $750k-$1M by year two. In partnering with the Senior Director of Marketing, Communications and Corporate Partnerships and Chief Development Officer, you will ensure that corporate funding opportunities pursued match BGCGW's strategic direction, ALL IN comprehensive campaign and annual fund priorities.

Your Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Successfully lead all fundraising efforts for BGCGW corporate partnerships.
  • Execute corporate prospect visits i.e., Club Tours and virtual meetings.
  • This is 90% external and fundraising focused: execute prospect visits and close gifts managing your own portfolio, 150+ prospects to include club tours, meetings, evening events.
  • Prepare comprehensive analysis to build upon successes, improvement recommendations and lessons learned.
  • Build trust and rapport with members of Operations, Impact & Innovation teams, Development Committee and regional boards (as applicable) to create cohesion and financial gain as related to corporate partners and deliverables with the Clubs.
  • Ensure the annual corporate pipeline compliments the initiatives set forth in the organization's strategic plan (currently, the Achieving Dreams Strategic Plan, ).
  • Maintain timely accountability to Opportunities and Actions in Raiser's Edge to ensure effective and efficient management of corporate pipeline and other administrative procedures and processes.
  • Administrative work and other duties as assigned.

You'll Need to Bring

  • Sincere Commitment to the mission of BGCGW - must adhere to the highest ethical standards, demonstrate an empathetic disposition and perseverance and convey sensitivity to the needs of donors, staff and volunteers.
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven to 10 years of relatable, fundraising experience.
  • A track record of closing six-figure corporate partnerships/sponsorships and growing annual revenue goals.
  • Superior attention to detail, accuracy, coordination and follow through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle a huge volume with many moving parts while keeping calm under pressure.
  • Presents a high degree of sophistication, self-confidence, self-motivation and flexibility.
  • Knowledge and evidence of the importance of emotional intelligence in both personal and professional success.
  • Comfort multi-tasking multiple deadlines and demonstrates strong ability to work independently, while balancing competing priorities through effective project management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team lead and team-focused, must enjoy and be successful working on teams and able to roll up one's sleeves and make things happen as an individual.
  • Experience and comfort working in Excel and related Microsoft Office products, CRM tools; Raiser's Edge/RE NXT experience a plus.
  • This position is hybrid: must be able to work at BGCGW Shared Services, 4103 Benning Road NE, Washington DC, during normal operations as well as work remotely.
  • Must have strong home internet connection (work laptop and cell phone will be provided).
  • Must be licensed to drive and own a reliable car.
  • Willingness to get it done - evening and weekend work to be occasionally expected.
