Job Description

The Director for COIT consults with the City Administrator and City CIO for purposes of developing and implementing strategic policies, initiatives, and performance measurement of IT activities. The Director for COIT also interacts with the Mayor's, Board of Supervisors', and Controller's staff, as well as department heads and department CIOs, for purposes of IT strategic planning, annual IT project prioritization and budgeting, and IT project performance review.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

Collaborate with the Department of Technology and other City departments to identify, develop and promulgate policies that engender effective, coordinated use of technology to support excellent service delivery by the City.

Oversee the planning, facilitation and execution of COIT monthly meetings and any COIT subcommittee meetings, including ensuring compliance with all city and state open meeting requirements, development and posting of the agenda and meeting materials, facilitation of presentations and development of meeting minutes.

Work with the City Administrator and the Deputy City Administrator to identify key policy issues and provide for efficient and meaningful discussions at COIT meetings

Oversee the planning and execution of COIT Budget and Performance Subcommittee meetings; work with City departments annually to develop and evaluate requests for technology projects; develop an annual technology project budget for approval by COIT and submission to the Mayor's Office

Lead creation of the biennial five-year Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Plan for approval by the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors

Monitor and support technology project implementation by City departments including project status, schedule and expenditures. Evaluate effectiveness of technology upon project completion

Support implementation of the Digital Accessibility and inclusion Standard in collaboration with stakeholders including the Mayor's Office on Disability, Digital and Data Services and all 52 City departments

Represents the department before Boards, Commissions, and Committees.

Manage a team of three, communicating job expectations and appraising results.
