This role is available in one or more of our hub locations: Atlanta, GA; Washington, D.C.; Redmond, WA; San Antonio, TX; or Phoenix, AZ. We offer relocation support, and successful candidates are required to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office. This role allows for hybrid or fully remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Develop contract frameworks and strategies across markets, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Analyze supplier pricing, cost, capabilities, and capacity to recommend and develop multi-year sourcing strategies for complex product categories.
  • Ensure supply agreements are resilient to disruptions, with mitigation plans in place for various issues such as permitting, manufacturing, and major events.
  • Lead a team in developing recommendations for investments in new technologies and contract structures.

Supplier Management:

  • Lead contract and price negotiation strategies for complex product categories, ensuring alignment with strategic business needs and compliance with Microsoft's requirements.
  • Serve as Microsoft's central point of contact for suppliers in the nuclear energy space, managing business review discussions and supplier performance against KPIs.

Technical Engagement:

  • Facilitate early technical engagements with cross-functional teams to assess the viability of emerging technologies.

Program Management:

  • Manage internal cross-functional partnerships and define processes for onboarding and managing supplier partnerships.
  • Influence sourcing decisions by articulating technical and business implications and serve as a point of escalation to resolve supply issues.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field, with 8+ years' experience in energy procurement; or Master's Degree with 6+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field, with 12+ years' experience in energy procurement; or Master's Degree with 8+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
