Responsibilities

The Director of Quality is responsible for leading the system quality improvement and patient safety efforts across a multi-hospital system.


This includes overseeing the Quality Improvement and Accreditation Teams, and potentially other teams in the future, to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration across all aspects of the hospital system's quality and safety initiatives.


Additionally, the Director is an essential part of integrating the Quality & Patient Safety Department, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration across all aspects of the hospital system's quality initiatives.



Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Experience with LEAN methodology as applied to quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and performance improvement methods, within specialty hospital settings such as pediatrics and behavioral health, clinical information systems, Joint Commission and CMS standards and processes, hospital administrative and financial concepts, labor relations, clinical research methods, and management processes preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and accreditation.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, management, presentation, facilitation, organizational, consultation, and training skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading work and teams to successful outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a multi-hospital system preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements, including but not limited to CMS, TJC, and OHA.
  • Knowledge of or previous exposure to Lean for healthcare organizations is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of quality improvement and patient safety principles and practices, including accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff members.
