Position Summary: The best suited leader for the role of Global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Director will be able to strengthen CVG's safety culture and minimize our risk profile by adding experienced, proactive, operationally savvy leadership. This position will be a member of the CVG Global Operations Council and will provide expertise to manufacturing sites and teams globally. This role will be a leader in fostering a culture of safety with an individual sense of responsibility to ensure a proactive approach to ensuring each employee feels empowered to raise their hand, safe to perform their job effectively, and confident that they will return home to their families each day. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee the organization's EHS program on a global scale, and increase profitability through a reduction of loss exposures, increase employee engagement and awareness, and compliance with legal obligations. Cultivate a network of safety partners/champions throughout the organization to help drive consistent safety leadership, promote safety culture, and engage all team members in key initiatives. Partner with sites and safety champions to ensure compliance with customer, local, state, and country/federal regulations. Lead EHS continuous improvement efforts to detect and eliminate health and safety hazards; establish standards and methods for measuring EHS performance and maintain a visible dashboard to ensure ongoing safety recognition and corrective action. Develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive global safety training program to support company strategies including interpretation and application of broad policy guidelines. Ensure appropriate staffing and capabilities are available based on aspects, risk, and performance. Influence/lead the organization with a strategic forward-thinking mindset on issues and trends. Ensure that safety is a core value and is properly embraced and led by our leaders. Provide technical guidance and support to the organization and operational teams. Remain current on external trends, practices, and legal issues, emerging H&S regulations, technologies, and best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Model and reinforce safety as a top priority of the organization, as well as hold a continuous improvement mindset. Lead cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into manufacturing processes, equipment design, and facility layout. Foster a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement by engaging employees at all levels and promoting proactive initiatives.
