JOB TITLE: Director, Cloud Services FLSA STATUS: Exempt DEPARTMENT: Technology & Cyber Security Services REPORTS TO: SVP, Technology & Cyber Security Services SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Yes JOB LOCATION: Remote / Nashville, TN - Corporate Office TRAVEL10% SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Director of Cloud Services is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the enterprise's cloud computing strategy, infrastructure, and operations. This role plays a crucial part in aligning the organization's business objectives with its technology capabilities, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of cloud resources. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of cloud professionals. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support for team members. Participate in the hiring process to build a skilled and cohesive team. Provide ongoing training to keep the team updated on the latest cloud technologies and best practices. Offer guidance and mentorship to team members for their professional growth. Collaboration: Foster transparent and open communication within the team and with other departments. Collaborate with other IT (Information Technology) leaders, departments, and stakeholders to understand business needs and integrate cloud solutions effectively. Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Identify and implement innovative cloud solutions to enhance business processes. Automate all aspects of operations (i.e., Infrastructure as code) Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the team's effectiveness. Implement a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to learn from incidents and enhance processes. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the team. Make informed and timely decisions, considering the impact on both short-term goals and long-term strategy. Security and Compliance: Establish and enforce security measures to safeguard cloud-based systems and data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Cloud Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute the organization's overall cloud strategy in alignment with business goals. Assess and recommend appropriate cloud technologies and services to meet business requirements. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure. Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of cloud services. Operations and Maintenance: Lead the day-to-day operations of cloud services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance. Implement best practices for cost management and resource utilization. Implement and maturity observability capabilities Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with cloud service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure optimal use of vendor services. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE): Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE): Several years of experience in cloud architecture and administration Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing cloud services. Technical Skills Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, or Google Cloud Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure technologies. Leadership Skills Excellent leadership and people management skills Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE): Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) Experience with DevOps methodologies Infrastructure as Code Coding best practices Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
