The anticipated start date is January 2, 2024. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director, Counseling and Health Services is responsible for the daily management and coordination of a counseling and health center that provides consistent, quality health care to students and focuses on educating students about how they can develop life-long healthy living skills. The incumbent develops and oversees the annual operating budgets for the department, provides fiscal direction to the department, and is responsible for the coordination of patient care and supervision of a professional team of mental health/behavioral health counselors and the activities of an on-site, out-sourced healthcare team. The Director provides mental health counseling/treatment within his/her scope of practice and is responsible for the treatment of patients in a diligent, knowledgeable and skillful manner in accordance with currently acceptable standards of practice in his/her professional specialty, applicable Kentucky state and federal laws, and regulations. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President/Dean of Students in the Division of Student Affairs. REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, nursing, or other related fields. Three (3) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Independently licensed in the state of Kentucky as a licensed psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, licensed professional clinical counselor, psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, licensed psychological practitioner, or equivalent medical practice. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in field of expertise, public health, or related field. Experience working with young adult patients. Organizational Relationships The Director of Counseling and Health Services reports to Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students, within the Division of Student Affairs. This position works closely with students, clinic staff and the University community; and maintains a collaborative working relationship with state and local health care agencies and local providers. This position works cooperatively with the University's outsourced healthcare provider to provide students comprehensive counseling and health services.
