Primary Location: Titusviulle, NJ; Other locations considered: New Brunswick, NJ, Spring House, PA or Boston, MA,

The Global Development, Data Science & Digital Health (GD, DSDH ) group within JJIM Data Science and Digital Health the has the accountability for full scale impact across the Development pipeline through integrating data-driven solutions to guide trial design optimization and trial execution strategies, with the key pillars being:

  • Driving Trial Acceleration & Optimization using data science, including but not limited to:

  • Enrollment modeling, trial analytics, country footprint analytics, advanced AI/ML modeling for site recommendations

  • Leverage real-world data for patient matching and improving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) in clinical trials

  • Protocol Design Optimization- evaluating and proposing options for eligibility optimization, hybrid trials, and decentralized clinical trials models

  • Development and scaling of other organizational tools such as Clinical Studio, Trials360.ai applications, etc.

  • AI/ML driven site selection and enrollment forecasting

This position is responsible for driving the functional performance of the trial acceleration capabilities and RWE innovation strategies that accelerate performance for timely, quantifiable business impact and collaboration across Data Science, Operations, Clinical, and other partners for the Oncology portfolio. Other responsibilities maybe assigned depending on program specific needs.

Director, GD DSDH guides the data science strategy to inform operational strategies during planning and enrollment in the Oncology portfolio. This role leads or supervises scenario planning, enrollment projections, study enrollment progress modeling, and site recommendations to accelerate study start-up and enrollment timelines. The Director will be expected to address program specific issues, and is responsible for working with organization partners to embed data-driven recommendations into the operational plan and realize impact.

Director, GD DSDH represents the GD DSDH team to drive infrastructure changes and tool enhancements to improve capability and technology in collaboration with internal and external parters. This position also leads the development and/or adoption of new DSDH technologies and platforms from design specification, build, training, communication and roll-out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-functional engagement management of senior collaborators across all major responsibilities.

  • Proactively support or supervise the portfolio analytical strategy and lead the prioritization and resource allocation to efficiently support the TA needs for feasibility and trial acceleration.

  • Ensure the analytics team is appropriately using multiple DS tools and technologies available to impact the overall Country/Site recommendations for trial or portfolio to deliver an aligned and final approved Site Decision List.

  • Develop innovative and novel analytical tools, with input from colleagues to constantly improve the speed, quality, reliability, and format of results.

  • Responsible for driving vendor and partner relationships, maybe responsible for handling the budget.

  • Proactively assist or co-develop analytics strategy through presentations and discussions with leaders from muliple organizations who are critical in figuring out overall strategy for protocol design, trial execution and site selection.

  • Provide insights, address questions, and ultimately gauge impact to accelerate trial execution.

  • Drive the implementation of initiatives, processes, reporting, visualization, or technologies to optimize supply/demand, prioritization across the capabilities, improving productivity and timely delivery of relevant insights.

  • Drive the advancement of Trial Acceleration Capabilities with data analytics methodologies for operational and feasibility insights and support continuous improvement activities, following and updating business processes, Work instructions and SOPs.

  • Partner with JRD Data Science TA, RWE, Data Platforms and Privacy (DPP) and others to understand RWE based advanced analytics to support feasibility process.

  • Provide domain level expertise for Trials.ai to serve as the hub for data integration, hosting data for feasibility, site start up and enrollment, internal and CRO, as well as hosting dashboard.

  • Develop processes for workflow (intake to delivery) and conduct VOC for continuous improvement.

  • Drive innovation to industry standards and establish critical metrics in close collaboration within DSDH, engagement in industry conferences and related consortia.

  • Define critical metrics and track efficiencies from the implementation of new technology initiatives related to study placement and enrollment tracking and contribute to learnings with peers.

  • Ensure delivery of requirement by CROs and technology partners to establish and follow operational enrollment technology and operational business processes.

  • Stay informed and bring information of clinical trial optimizing trends within focused Therapeutic Area (TA)s, data analytics, and technologies and promote critical metrics to influence optimizing behavior.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree, MBA, or PhD preferred

  • 5 years Data Analytics experience with consistent record of success for driving forward large initiatives by generating agreement, leading multiple complex projects, and continuously completing excellent quality analytics is required.

  • Strong and proactive collaborator engagements skills are critical to be successful in this role.

  • Ability to inspire change, define new processes and establish new team norms.

  • Ability to infer and apply data insights to optimize trial strategy and generate multiple scenarios based on business variables.

  • Confident leading internal collaborators, external vendors and CROs with limited guidance, and leading navigating in new areas.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to deliver focused, concise, clear, and timely data and technology assessments to Feasibility and leadership team.

  • Working knowledge of the changing ecosystem of external data such as real-world data, and publicly available data assets that would benefit a clinical operations data science team.

  • Experience with benchmarking, data science and analytics, machine learning, data analytics, decision science, operations research and clinical trial strategy, data modeling, and/or data engineering

  • US and Key markets preferred.

Preferred:

  • Proven experience within the consulting space

  • Clinical trial strategy, start-up/execution, applied technology, or pharma/biotech industry business operations preferred.

  • Strong Project management and interpersonal skills with ability to lead and complete multiple projects simultaneously is highly preferred.

  • Experience with clinical trial operational datasets such as CTMS and operational benchmarks

  • Experience working with RWE datasets and trial feasibility or acceleration models

  • Experience in analytical and modelling tools, large data sets, and data analysis workflows with demonstrated proficiency in statistical and analytical principles delivering robust, timely, high-quality analytics.

  • Knowledge of Healthcare delivery systems/networks

Expected Salary: $142,000 - $244,000
