Short Description

This position will serve as a key resource to Administrative and Physician Leadership for Finance & Revenue Cycle for Hospital Based Services (Hospital Medicine, Pathology, Radiology, CUES and Critical Care) on the Camden Campus and offsite contracts.


Direct the Hospital Medicine and CUES billing team (3.0 FTE's). The Financial Manager of Hospital Medicine and Critical Care will report directly to this position.


Develop, recommend and implement strategies to proactively address issues or problems with financial results. Responsible for the direction and administrative oversight of capital and operating budget development, expense management, physician compensation / incentive plans, accounts payable, and coding and billing compliance for the Institute. Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships/new products.


Assist the Office in working with the medical school in maintaining the Department's high standard of excellence education by supporting financial management of Institute Educational programs, including CMSRU, residency programs and fellowship programs.


Assist with expansion of services in creating and presenting proformas. Manage vendor contracts with Salem, Inspira, Complete Care, and Cape Regional for Hospital Based Services, Critical Care and CUES. Management includes accounts receivable, reconciliation process and incentive payment process.


In coordination with the Institute Executive Leadership, will assist in implementing the strategic plan, and integrating with the Organizational Strategic plan.


Works collaboratively with the physician and administrative leadership teams within the Institute and other institutes and departments.



Experience Required

2-5 years experience in financial/operational management and analysis of an academic practice plan at the administrative leadership level preferred. Experience in physician practice management, compensation plans, revenue cycle and budget.


An understanding of how to achieve results in a complex environment; ability to think critically and make decisions.


Strong interpersonal skills to allow for development of collaborative relationships with leadership within a highly matrixed organization; team oriented.

Excellent written communication skills.

Strong computer and IT system capabilities; MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).


Advanced knowledge of budgetary principles and practices.(i.e. developing capital/operational budgets, inpatient and outpatient revenue cycle management, expense management, physician compensation plans)


Negotiation and financial analysis skills.


Ability to use and interpret industry benchmark data reports and surveys for use in operational analyses (i.e. MGMA, AAMC and others.)




Education Requirements

BA or BS preferably in hospital or business administration or finance/accounting

MBA preferred
