The Role

The Director, Ecommerce and Digital Marketing will develop, lead, and execute the digital strategy that leadsthe Mezzetta brand through the fast-evolving eCommerce space. They will apply a general managementmindset to expand, maximize, and optimize online sales for Mezzetta via omnichannel and pure play digitalretailers as well as on owned channels. This includes channel P&L management for all categories, includingpricing, sales growth and profit delivery.Ideal candidates will have a passion for, and demonstrated leadership, in growing brands on e-commerceplatforms. They will have a deep understanding of eCommerce sales and marketing, particularly in an ever-changing landscape. They will also need to have demonstrated relevant experience growing smallerbusinesses, an ability to manage a portfolio of brands/initiatives and demonstrated successful peopleleadership.

  • Strategic Thought Leader: While implementing the existing 3-year roadmap to meet the consumer needs, you have built and delivered upon breakthrough new Ecommerce strategies that will propel us to unassailable success in the future. As the channel grows, you have helped guide the organization, including senior management, on the right way to resource and structure Ecommerce within the company.
  • Business Owner: The business is healthy with surgical P&L management, ensuring we can maximize opportunities for ongoing marketing investments. Collaborating with Sales and Planning, you have consistently achieved revenue goals through impactful customer strategies and robust volume forecasting.
  • Ecommerce Go-to-Market Guru: With your in-depth Ecommerce insights, you've developed and deployed an integrated Ecommerce marketing plan, including (but not limited to) email marketing, SEM, and Amazon Advertising. With robust data reports, you've analyzed results from various campaigns and adjust accordingly to optimize results. As an avid learner, you've continued to increase your understanding of the everchanging world of Ecommerce marketing, and tested those tactics that were relevant to Mezzetta.
  • People & Organizational Developer: You and your team have become the center of excellence on all things Ecommerce and have worked creatively to educate and grow the digital quotient (DQ) of the organization as a whole. As an inspirational leader, you have helped develop your direct team, and increased the understanding of the Ecommerce business across the organization.
  • Partner Management Extraordinaire: You have cultivated strong relationships with outside partners (e.g., Agencies and Brokers), and ensured communications and processes were streamlined. As a result, they helped execute key initiatives with minimal disruptions and within budget.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the development and execution of multi-year strategic plans for Mezzetta's eCommerce sales growth across omnichannel and pure play retailers as well as owned channels
  • Maintain and improve Mezzetta's digital presence on key eCommerce platforms
  • Manage digital tools and eco system across digital, social, consumer relations to ensure and cohesive consumer experience
  • Responsible for sales growth, profit delivery and P&L and budget management
  • Establish and manage a 3PL fulfillment process for sales on pure play retailers and owned channels.
  • Lead the implementation of state of the art digital reporting to monitor online sales performance and deliver actionable recommendations to achieve business unit objectives and goals
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges in partnership with the Operations COE
  • Collaborate and engage with cross functional teams (sales, creative, finance, operations) to achieve growth goals
  • Manage three direct reports: Senior Brand Manager, Digital & eCommerce, Associate Manager Social Media, Consumer Care & Connections Associate Manager

What you need to be successful:

  • At least 10 years of marketing experience, food or beverage industry experience preferred
  • At least 5 years of recent Ecommerce and/or digital marketing experience (with both selling direct to consumer (D2C) and via Amazon preferred).
  • Strong people leader with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities
  • Successfully developed and executed company-wide strategies, including large scale projects that span different departments.
  • P&L management experience
  • Knowledge of all Ecommerce channels D2C, B2C, B2B
  • Experience in managing Amazon 3PL, 3P reseller, and Brand Protection
  • D2C- knowledge of Google Analytics, Tableau, and Ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce platform)
  • Experience using CRM tools like Salesforce, Pardot, Marketo
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect long-term vision to short-term goals and initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills. Must have demonstrated experience with pricing analysis, Nielsen, and other marketing databases and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage digital marketing budgets; make needed adjustments to hit targets.
  • Experience managing direct reports and developing their skillsets
