Position Description:

Stores and processes large data sets using big data and Cloud technologies Hadoop, Snowflake, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Supports the development of Web-based applications, using SQL, R, and Python. Designs, runs, analyzes, and interprets experimental tests according to A/B methodologies. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions and insights. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creates, and summarizes large data sets.
  • Formulates and applies mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.
  • Collects and analyzes data and develops decision support software, services, or products.
  • Develops and supplies optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.
  • Performs validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulates models as necessary.
  • Performs industry leading analytics and research approach to deliver insights and recommendations to senior executives in a concise manner.
  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members on analytical frameworks and approaches.
  • Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Data Analytics and Insights (or a closely related occupation) applying data analytics of unstructured and semi-structured data to inform strategic business decision making.

Or, alternatively, a Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Data Analytics and Insights (or a closely related occupation) applying data analytics of unstructured and semi-structured data to inform strategic business decision making.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ( DE ) generating insights for customer service strategy and customer experience touchpoints by extracting, transforming, and analyzing unstructured and semi-structured data text content (onsite articles) and customer-entered feedback (surveys, online tool interactions, and call transcripts) using Machine Learning (ML) algorithms; and integrating data from various sources and internal data warehouses by creating standards and repeatable workflows using Snowflake, AWS and Oracle to process at scale.
  • DE performing data and text analysis writing complex SQL and Hive queries for data extraction from Hadoop and data warehouse environments; performing data analysis, modeling, and reporting, using Python, R, Qlik Sense, Tableau, and Clarabridge; and creating canned and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, analytical, and visualization solutions using visualization tools Qlik Sense, Tableau, Python, and Clarabridge.
  • DE defining technical specifications for online interaction tracking to support on-going analytical and experimentation needs by providing scalable solutions using SQL, Adobe, and Simon Data.
  • DE performing data analysis, profiling, mining, extraction, and cleansing of large data warehouses using DB2, Snowflake, AWS, Hadoop, SQL Server, and Oracle; and generating visual insights for business and end users by creating data models and right data structures using Qlik Sense and Tableau.

Salary: $177,375.00 - $188,400.00/year.
