Direct Support Professional - Palmer Center (day habiliation) - 40/Monday through Friday - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Overview Requisition Number: 1889 Date Posted: 8/30/2023 Location: Palmer Address: 1113 Flatbush Road City: Kingston Category: Direct Support Description The Direct Support Professional (DSP) coordinates day habilitation programming and activities, working with management, staff, and the people that reside at Palmer Center to create activities that are both home-based and in the community. Palmer Center is located in Kingston, and is very close to shopping and the Rhinecliff Bridge. As an employee at Palmer Center, you can expect all kinds of fun activities taking place each day. The people who live there love to be together as a group and sing songs and listen to music so as an employee at Palmer, bring your musical talents and join in the fun. We even have a piano. Do you have a special talent for crafts? Then gather around the table and teach everyone a new arts and crafts project. Our Palmer Center includes three homes, with beautiful outdoor space. A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification. HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/8:00 am to 4:00 pm STARTING SALARY: $ 19.01 to $ 20.72 per hour, for working at this location (which includes a $2.00 per hour differential over the Palmer Full-Time DSP base salary range of $ 17.01 to 18.72), plus applicable shift differentials may be added. Minimum Requirements + High School Diploma or GED is preferred + Acceptable NYS Driver's License + Computer skills
