The IHS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Videos Help Duties Performs a variety of routine to complex examinations to assist the Medical Staff in the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients. Monitors all radiographs taken in the department to assure high quality. Maintains records of all functions of this department to assure high quality. Performs a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations of human subjects to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury. Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): OPM Link: Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist Series 0647 (opm.gov) In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-04: 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience performing routine diagnostic radiographic procedures. My experience included producing digital images of routine views of the body (i.e. chest, joints, feet, hands, long bones of arms and legs) under general supervision of a Radiologist. GS-05: 1 year of experience performing routine diagnostic radiologic procedures. My experience included producing digital images of routine views of the body (i.e. chest, joints, feet, hands, long bones of arms and legs) under general supervision of a Radiologist. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: performing or assisting in fluoroscopy examinations such as upper GI's, lower GI's, also special examinations such as bronchograms, orthograms, IVP's and cystograms. Experience in keeping accurate records of patient's workloads and experience in maintaining patient logs on a daily basis and educating patients on examinations such as preparation. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: experience in basic, complex ultrasound examinations, developing and maintaining a quality control system for an automatic film processor on a daily basis to meet all M/M and The JCAHO standards, checking lead aprons and lead gloves for radiation leaks on a quarterly basis which is documented, monitoring all radiographers taken to assure high quality and keeping accurate records for every x-ray. GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: perform computerized axial tomographic scanning of heads and/or bodies; confer with radiologist to establish requirements of standard examinations and determines technical factors, positioning, number and thickness cut of scans, etc. to satisfy requirement; advises radiologist or referring physician of results of examination, provide preliminary diagnostic evaluation, notifies radiologist or referring physician of significant scans requiring their immediate attention and visualization while patient is undergoing examination; prepare contrast material under the direction of radiologic for purpose of performing procedures/exams requiring injectable solutions such as IVP, cystograms, cholangiograms, fistulagrams, arthograms, and myelograms. Selective Placement Factor 1: Knowledge of Imaging/Xray studies for physicians/providers to use in diagnosis and treatment of patients as evidenced by possession of a current unrestricted American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) certification. Selective Placement Factor 2, GS-08 only: Professional knowledge to effectively operate Computer Tomography (CT) equipment as evidence by possession of licensure or registration and certification in radiography and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
