Developmental Specialist Pay $17.25 / HOUR ($17.75 after one year.) NO WEEKEND, NO NIGHTS, NO HOLIDAY. Location: 70 Main Street, Taunton Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm People, Incorporated is a human service Agency serving the Southcoast community, including the Greater Fall River, New Bedford, and Taunton areas. Our Day Habilitation program is looking for an employee to serves as an interdisciplinary team member responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising services and assumes primary responsibility for each member on an assigned caseload to coordinate the implementation of the program Service Plan and maintain each members record. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recommend service plan goals, assist in completing annual severity profiles, and service needs assessments as well as review new potential program individuals. Complete daily data sheets, including documentation for behavior services. Implement service plan goals, including therapeutic goals. Inform the supervisor or nursing staff of any unusual behavior, signs of illness or injury. Ensure all schedules are followed and individuals are engaged in activities. Ensure all protocols are followed to include but not limited to: toileting, dining, dietary, PICA (persistent ingestion of nonnutritive substances), behavior guidelines, seizure and safety. Complete daily communication logs. Complete monthly progress reports of service plan goals. Maintain all program required trainings. Attend interdisciplinary team meetings as needed to participate in curriculum design. Implement curriculum in accordance with individual service plans. Complete and submit Recipient Severity Profile Forms as required. Ensure positive behavior supports are implemented for all individuals. Maintain an expertise in the day habilitation field through attendance at meetings, in-services, continuing education or other appropriate educational programs. QUALIFICATION High school diploma or GED required. Two years experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or a health care setting. Skill in communicating and working both independently and as a team. Ability to escort, assist and/or transport program participants. Ability to work with mental health and/or developmentally disabled individuals. Ability to effectively participate in the design, implementation, and supervision of services. Ability to complete and disseminate all required forms and documents. Ability to assist and/or support consumers as needed and in emergencies that require full physical assistance.
