The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering Directorate consists of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), Signal Processing (SP) and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors. The PG&C Center is currently hiring a Senior Principal Systems Engineer for the role of Deputy Software and Performance IPT Leader for a major Naval Power Program.


This role will help lead a cross-discipline team of more than 50 engineers executing GNC, Simulation, Software, Signal Processing, and Performance tasks to ensure delivery of the missile system in a dynamic and fast-paced program environment. The role will include frequent technical and programmatic interactions with the customer, missile community, and Raytheon leadership. This position is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.


What You Will Do

  • Manage daily execution of the Software and Performance IPT.
  • Lead IPT interactions with customer community technical groups, to influence and guide the development of program interfaces and mission requirements.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to team members.
  • Apply extensive experience in task leadership and system level design, integration, and verification.
  • Enabling IPT success by proactively removing barriers for team execution.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of GNC, Simulation, Signal Processing or Software engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in missile system performance, design and/or development activities.
  • Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience within a Naval missile portfolio
  • Experience with technical leadership of multi-disciplinary team/s.
  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in an Agile and DevOps development environment.
  • Raytheon PM level 7 certification or higher.
  • Adaptability and resiliency to changes in program environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Experience in giving technical briefs or presentations.

: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.



The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
