Position Summary

KIND seeks a full-time Deputy Director, Planning and Performance within the Legal Programs department and reports to the Senior Director, Planning and Performance. The Deputy Director, Planning and Performance works to ensure compliance monitoring, engage in proposal development and reporting, and coordinate better informed data management. They strive to achieve sustainability and consistency in excellent programming delivery for the benefit of KIND's clients, staff, pro bono partners, and stakeholders.

This a headquarters position based remotely from any location in the U.S.

Essential Functions
  • Facilitates systems-oriented delivery of high-quality services across KIND's Legal Programs functions.
  • Promotes baseline protocols for service delivery and ongoing monitoring.
Reporting
  • Leads the development, implementation, and ongoing production of robust programmatic reporting across all functions within Legal Programs, including social services, legal technical assistance, and field management.
  • Coordinates with KIND's Data Strategy Team to develop essential data training programming and ongoing support; serves on KIND's Legal Server Super User Working Group.
  • Collaborates with finance to develop and monitor spenddown reports across funders to assist Senior Manager, Planning and Performance and other members of the Legal Programs Senior Management team to adjust programming and support strategic growth.
  • Reviews and edits regular reporting to key government funders.
Compliance Monitoring
  • Coordinates compliance monitoring and program assessment protocols and tools across Legal Programs staff and KIND's Data Strategy team.
  • Partners with the Senior Director, Planning and Performance to develop maintain organizational standards for quality and performance.
  • Utilizes reporting to assist Senior Director, Planning and Performance in solutions-oriented support for field office programming.
  • Coordinates with Senior Director, Planning and Performance in the development and delivery of key documentation and training for field offices in government and other funding compliance.
  • Works with Senior Director to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department.
Program Development
  • Provides analysis and strategic considerations to Senior Director, Planning and Performance in initial review and mapping of new strategic efforts with KIND's Development team.
  • Provides review of renewal funding proposals from the KIND Development team.
  • Coordinates proposals and oversees process for annual fellowship application process.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • JD and admitted to state bar.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the immigration filed, preferably including working with immigrant children or with survivors of abuse, human trafficking, or other trauma.
  • Minimum of 3 years of program management capacity; supervising and managing in legal context; facilities with databases including the use of systems to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to field office locations as needed for specific meetings or events.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (such as Teams, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and multi-task in our KIND environment, managing numerous priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate as appropriate.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences, and communication styles.

$98,821.55 - $108,150 a year
