Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Supervise and lead team Quality and Safety programs at the facility.

• Collaboratively set the vision and strategy for Quality and Safety for the facility with leadership and frontline staff.

• Responsible for quality assurance activities for facility, system and regulatory requirements.

• Oversee quality assurance data collection, chart abstraction and reporting activities.

• Lead Performance Improvement activities at the facility.

• Lead Performance Improvement capacity building programs including Quality Academy.

• Support executive sponsorship of public survey submissions - shared responsibility with Chief Quality Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Medical Officer to assist with final review of data and responses prior to submission.

• Support the Patient Safety Officer with the facility Patient Safety Committee, to develop system and facility annual Patient Safety goals, and ensure high performance in the National Patient Safety Goals.

• Support the Chief Quality Officer's role as Executive Sponsor for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and execution of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and monitoring for compliance.

• Incorporate information learned from near-miss and adverse event reporting and RCA's into Performance Improvement activities.

• Support the Chief Quality Officer's role as Executive Sponsor in Care Experience activities to improve patient experience, staff wellness and engagement

• Serve as an Executive Sponsor for continuous readiness efforts for accreditation surveys including tracers, mock surveys, and creation and implementation of Plans of Correction.

• Incorporate information learned from tracer and survey activities into Performance Improvement programs.

• Oversee quality data analytics and reporting activities to support Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety, Risk Management, Accreditation and Care Experience programs and activities.

• Attend facility and corporate-based PI forums including, but not limited to, hospital team report-outs, Executive Quality meetings, Facility-Based Collaboration Councils (FBCCs) and Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee to the Board of Directors meetings

• Guide teams in the use of problem-solving and analytical tools (e.g. Fishbone/Ishikawa Cause & Effect Diagram, Driver Diagram, Run Charts, Shewhart Control Charts etc.) to enhance project planning, implementation, reporting and system-wide learning and performance evaluation

Minimum Qualifications
1. A Masters Degree with a specialization in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine or in Public Health when conferred for a program in Hospital Administration from an accredited college or university; and,
2. Six years of high-level responsible experience in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or an equivalent field, or as an Assistant to a Hospital Administrator in a position of direct responsibility for operations of a major part or all of a hospital, including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs; or,
3. An equivalent combination of training, education and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and,
4. Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of hospital organization, administration and standards, regulations and laws applicable to hospital operations, knowledge of business and human resources administration principles, management functions, management processes and functions of hospital departments, and ability to direct and supervise personnel.

• Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Regulatory & Accreditation. Care Experience, Healthcare Administration, Data & Reporting, Policy, Leadership and Education.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Strong leadership and change management skills

• Superior organizational, planning, and project management skills

• Understanding of HIPPA and other regulations designed to protect patient rights and confidentiality
