Yes Job Type Job Type Full-Time Working Hours Position Summary The Deputy Chief Diversity Officer ( DCDO ) at Roosevelt University is a key leadership position responsible for fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and belonging within the university community, and is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the institution's compliance to Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.The DCDO will lead efforts to create an environment that values and celebrates diversity, ensuring that students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds feel welcomed and supported. There are high expectations that the DCDO will exemplify a culture of collaboration and partnering, as a clear and transparent communicator across both campuses. The DCDO oversees and coordinates investigations, responses and resolutions to complaints, to include supervision of investigators and selection and training of Deputy Title IX Coordinators. The Deputy Chief Diversity Officer and Title IX Coordinator will provide services and collaborate with various offices and departments to enhance student success, the student experience, and student growth and development. In addition, the Deputy Chief Diversity Officer and Title IX Coordinator will aid University leadership to identify and address systemic problems. This position reports to the Vice President, Chief of Staff, Chief Diversity Officer and works closely with the Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. This is a full-time exempt, administrative position with occasional evening and weekend work required.

•   Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field.
•  Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
•  Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good relationships with students, faculty and staff.
•  Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively summarize and present information.
•  Ability to innovate and create programs that supports student learning, leading to increased persistence and graduation rates across diverse student populations.
•  Excellent written communication skills and ability to produce clear case notes.
•  Demonstrated and proven ability to initiate and lead large-scale programs and projects.
•  Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

•  Knowledge of federal mandates and best practice in the field of violence prevention programming and threat assessment.
•  Experience working with college/university students in sexual assault prevention, crisis management, and programming and event planning.
•  Experience in case management, preferably in education.
•  Comprehensive knowledge of laws, rules and regulations and best practices, including those concerning race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, age, veteran status, personal experience, and social, economic, spiritual and cultural distinctions and concerns and how these intersect with policies.

•  Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging ( DEIB ) strategic plan aligned with the university's mission and goals.
•  Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate DEI initiatives into all aspects of the university's operations.
•  The DCDO is responsible for coordinating the university's recognition events honoring diverse cultural, ethnic and identity groups for internal and external audiences.
•  Foster relationships with community organizations, minority-serving institutions, and local stakeholders to enhance diversity initiatives and community partnerships.
•  The DCDO must act as a 'chief connector' by quickly reaching out to all constituencies at both campus locations and in the community to build solid and mutually beneficial relationships that support positive momentum to support the President and the leadership agenda.
•  Represent the university in relevant community events, promoting diversity and belonging.
•  Serve as a resource for addressing diversity-related incidents and concerns.
•  The DCDO must be a seasoned and enthusiastic champion of DEI work in the context of higher education. The DCDO must have the capacity to manage complex issues, be committed to anti-racism at the highest level, and be equipped to contribute at both a strategic and operational level.
•  Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of diversity programs and make adjustments as needed.
•  Advocate for and provide guidance to students who request assistance navigating institutional processes, including but not limited to: university policy, procedure, problem-solving, reporting complaints, academic or financial barriers, etc.
•  Chair the DEI Advisory Council and the Students of Concern committee while following NaBITA guidelines and work in collaboration with faculty and other support services across campus to intervene as early as possible with students who exhibit behavioral or personal well-being needs.
•  Work with the DOS Office to coordinate the student non-academic grievance and complaint process.
•  Serve as Roosevelt University's Title IX Coordinator and oversee efforts to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct within the community, in compliance with Title IX, VAWA , and all related state and federal laws.
•  Oversee and coordinate investigations, responses, and resolutions to complaints, to include selection and supervision of investigators and training of Title IX.
•  Develop, implement, coordinate, and conduct educational programs and initiatives designed to educate and support faculty, staff, and students regarding their rights and, where applicable, obligations under Title IX, including reporting options, responsibilities, and support services.
•  Communicate and coordinate with local victim advocacy organizations and support providers.
