Summary

This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, External Affairs Division. The incumbent serves as a Deputy and alter-ego to the Associate Director (AD), EA; contributes to and shares responsibility for the development and implementation of strategic objectives, policies, and priorities; and has the authority and responsibility to perform the duties of the AD in his/her absence.

  • Participate fully in developing and coordinating program and policy initiatives of EA; lead formulation, implementation, and oversight of divisional strategic plans; and lead, advise, and assist other divisional leaders with coordination with internal and external entities. May also lead or oversee operational initiatives for EA on behalf of the AD.
  • Lead, participate in, and oversee divisional work of the EA offices, addressing defined policy, program, or operational initiatives. Identify and pursue opportunities for the Division to contribute to cross-divisional work. Oversee occasional special projects. Plan, manage, oversee staff for, and may staff, special projects.
  • Assist in increasing Bureau staff awareness of external stakeholders' needs for information about the Bureau and solicit information about the Bureau's work that can be shared with external stakeholders. Assist in monitoring Bureau outreach efforts to key external stakeholders, identifying opportunities for increased Bureau engagement, responding to external requests for Bureau engagement, and recommending proactive outreach strategies and tactics.
