What You'll Do:
Edward Jones is seeking a visionary Department Leader of the Cloud Business Office to lead our cloud adoption initiatives and drive our cloud strategy forward. As the Department Leader, you will oversee the safe and secure use of cloud services while delivering exceptional user experiences to our internal stakeholders. This role will involve close collaboration with technology leaders, division heads, and portfolio owners to ensure strategic alignment and the delivery of a user-centric cloud platform. You will be responsible for providing division leadership with visibility into the value delivered by the cloud, aligned with our business objectives through outcomes-based reporting and meaningful measures.

Here are a few of the key responsibilities you will be a part of:
  • Develop, execute, and be the ambassador of a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives, ensuring maximum value realization from cloud investments.
  • Lead the Cloud Business Office team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful implementation of cloud initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technology leaders, division heads, and portfolio owners to define and prioritize cloud adoption initiatives based on business needs and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with cloud service providers, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and standards while optimizing costs.
  • Drive the implementation of FinOps principles and practices to optimize cloud spending and ensure cost transparency across the organization.
  • Develop and implement cloud governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure security, compliance, and risk management.
  • Provide regular reporting and communication to division leadership and stakeholders, highlighting the value delivered by the cloud and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our cloud capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Cloud Business Office team and across the organization.
  • Champion the adoption of cloud-native development practices, driving agility, scalability, and resilience in our cloud solutions.

What Experience You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience leading cloud adoption initiatives for a large organization including:
    • 3+ years of leadership experience highly preferred
    • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, architectures, and best practices
    • Experience with cloud financial management and implementing FinOps principles to optimize costs.
    • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, with expertise in Agile, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Integration

  • Certified from the FinOps Foundation preferred.

Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday
