Position Summary: PRN Only at Dodson Community Health Center. Responsible for assuring that dental services are delivered in accordance with patient needs, health center policy, requirements of JCAHO/DNV, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the State of Tennessee. Must supervise and evaluate the dental staff. Must possess all skills necessary for the practice of dentistry. Must have budgeting, planning, and evaluation skills. Must be able to work under stressful environmental and crowded conditions. Must be able to see a full schedule of patients in addition to supervisory duties. Attends at least 75% of quarterly medical staff meetings; attends any meeting as directed by medical director or his/her designee. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation. Education: Must have a DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school. Must have a license to practice dentistry in the State of Tennessee Experience: Must have two years' experience as a staff dentist or the equivalent. Licensure: Must have a license to practice dentistry in the state of Tennessee. Must be a member of the Erlanger Health System Medical Staff and maintain status as a TennCare provider. Core Competencies: 1. Maintains current State of Tennessee dental and DEA drug license. 2. Complies with EMC policies. 3. Operates in the dental clinic following the guidelines and policies set forth by the Health Center, OSHA, and JCAHO/DNV. 4. Meets or exceeds the required minimum standard for yearly continuing dental education. 5. Presents a professional image and attitude in the clinic at all times. 6. Relates well with the Health Center staff. 7. Supervises and evaluates the dental staff. 8. Interacts well with young children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in the dental clinic. 9. Provides quality care to all dental patients in a caring manner. 10. Maintains accurate and timely patient treatment documentation. 11. Adheres to and upholds policies regarding patient confidentiality. 12. Attends at least 75% of quarterly medical staff meetings; attends any meeting as directed by medical director or his/her designee. '215332
