Dental Hygienist

CareSTL Health is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist who is committed to serving through strong team leadership and enhancing the overall oral health and habits of our community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Dental Hygienist may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons. 1. Assess patient's present oral condition, provide an oral cancer screen and periodontal assessment. 2. Scale and polish teeth. Provide periodontal evaluation and deep cleaning if required. 3. Provide caries risk assessment and determine patient's health risk behaviors including tobacco usage and alcohol consumption. 4. Provide detailed oral health care instructions to include appropriate age education and behavior counseling. 5. Conduct dental health promotional programs, disease screenings, and distribute appropriate health promotion literature. A Successful Candidate: Good oral and verbal communication skills Good organizational and self-motivational skills Use of Dental Technology, Dental Health Maintenance, Infection Control, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Bedside Manner, Creating a Safe Effective Environment, Administering Medication Job Requirements and Qualifications: Education: Must have either a certificate or Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited school of Dental Hygiene. Must have a current licensed issued by the State of Missouri Experience: 1-2 yrs experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred Basic Life Support Other: Must have reliable transportation. Additional Information: Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 11 paid holidays per year. Full benefits package. Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
