Job Details

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Privacy Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This role will be pivotal in managing our clients data privacy and compliance, advising on consumer consent workflows, and providing legal advice on a wide range of privacy-related matters. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, both state and federal, and will be responsible for drafting privacy policies and data protection agreements, data mapping, and responding to data subject requests. This role will also involve handling data breach and incident response and reporting, as well as consumer privacy litigation.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on a wide range of data privacy matters.
  • Manage data privacy and compliance projects, ensuring that all aspects of our operations are in line with state, federal, and international regulations.
  • Draft and revise privacy policies and data protection agreements.
  • Conduct data mapping and advise on consumer consent workflows.
  • Respond to data subject requests in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Handle data breach and incident response and reporting.
  • Advise clients on global privacy controls and data protection impact assessments.
  • Handle consumer privacy litigation and represent the company in any related legal proceedings.
  • Stay updated on changes in data privacy laws and regulations and advise the company accordingly.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the state bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically dealing with consumer and employee privacy.
  • Must have expertise in employee and consumer privacy laws and regulations at the state, federal, and international level.
  • Proven experience in data breach and incident response and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing data privacy and compliance projects.
  • Experience in drafting privacy policies and data protection agreements.
  • Proficient in data mapping and advising on consumer consent workflows.
  • Experience advising clients on global privacy controls and data protection impact assessments.
  • Experience responding to data subject requests.
  • Strong experience with consumer privacy litigation.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
