POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the student information data within the Student Information System (SIS) at the site level by maintaining the site's data and data system on a daily basis. The Data Owner also ensures SIS is available to use by other site staff as needed and provides user support for the system. The Data Owner assists in developing/revising enrollment strategies, as well as processing new enrollment applications. This is a 12 month position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Enter/update student information data as changes occur, on a daily basis Register and enroll all new students by importing/entering data into the system Register new staff for SIS account creation Enter academic data for transfer students Support/ensure the daily attendance process Enter Master Schedule for each semester/school year Enter and maintain all schedules within SIS As expert user in SIS, support all site-based staff in use of appropriate functionality of SIS, providing training as necessary Directly responsible for monitoring student attendance and managing attendance reporting Provide SIS reports to site-based staff as needed Enforce and explain corporate and state policies and procedures and expected behaviors from other users Support enrollment and recruitment efforts by developing strategies for publicity, preparing fliers, and assisting with outreach efforts and collecting relevant information. Manage waiting list/lottery where applicable Support state reporting efforts Support data requests for grant management efforts Assist Guidance Counselors with populating new schedules, class assignments, etc. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. BS degree preferred Background in technology with experience working with databases in a Windows environment preferred Experience in a K-12 setting Experience performing clerical tasks such as data entry in a busy environment where multi-tasking is demanded KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Computers and Electronics Knowledge: Knowledge of computer hardware and software (including applications and programming). Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, faculty, staff and the Board. Math Ability: Basic math skills required. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer and Equipment Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the knowledge and experience to perform the administration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all school computers and office equipment as described through out the job description. EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM THE JOB which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Standard office equipment including a facsimile machine, photocopier, and telephone system. Personal computer, school computers, printers. Applications installed and maintained include web publishing, intranetware databases, classroom applications, summer school technology needs and communications (e-mail, voice, & video). Infrastructures such as: LAN, WAN, copiers, visual communication, handheld devices (Android, Ipads, cell phones, etc.) Security systems include virus protection, anti-spyware software, backup systems, wireless network security, phone network and other policies as they are needed. WORK ENVIRONMENT environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally required to work in confined or high, dangerous places This individual may be exposed to risk of electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles and potentially hazardous bodily fluids. PHYSICAL ABILITIES commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
