Data Migration Specialist
Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
DCCA is looking for an experienced Data Migration Specialist to lead the migration of the customer s legacy data in Microsoft SQL Server to a defined modernized Postgres RDS data model.
- Utilize data conversion and migration skills and oversee conversion script development, including tuning queries
- Support data loading, monitoring progress, resolving data transition issues and reporting errors
- Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and escalate issues as needed for resolution in a timely manner
- Develop data migration process flows and prepare documentation describing the data migration approach
- Perform data mapping of source-to-target data sets
- Develop data migration execution plans
- Lead efforts during test data migration exercises and refine conversion scripts
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration to resolve any dependencies
Required Skills:
Proven experience:
- 5-8 years of proven experience:
o SQL database, preferably Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2019
o NiFi ETL for data migration
- Technical experience developing/supporting lutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Supporting databases in the AWS Cloud
- Exceptionally strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
- Excellent Communication skills
Desired Skills:
o Working in an Agile SCRUM environment
o Collaborating in a multiple contractor environment
o Previous experience working with financial data is preferred
o Proficient in MS Word, and MS Excel
Education/Certifications:
- Computer Science degree or Bachelor s degree in a related major.
Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
