GridironIT is seeking a Lead Data Architect with Open Mission Systems experience to work remotely with the ability to travel up to 25% to the Boston/DC areas.
Secret clearance is required. The Opportunity: Your combination of people skills and technical expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. As a database administrator with knowledge of Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) applications, you know how to manage and secure database technology. You can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting the Joint All-Domain Command & Control (JADC2) environment. On our team, you'll apply leading-edge principles and concepts to design data architecture solutions for enabling our client's ability to implement a common standard for integration and interoperability across all Services and Combatant Commands. You'll provide your client with peace of mind as you work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions to ensure the security and integrity of the database. In this role, you'll share your technical expertise, introduce best practices, and use tools like Docker and Kubernetes to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database for JADC2 missions. You'll lead your team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud solution components, and you'll serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered. Work with us as we improve database technology to change the JADC2 environment for the better. You Have: 8+ years of experience architecting solutions from user requirements and use cases to be applied across a systems engineering lifecycle
2+ years of coding data solutions for OMS/UCI specific implementations
Experience with large-scale, Cloud-based applications, including Cloud architecture, implementation lead, and strategy
Experience with AWS managed services
Experience in a technical leadership role in a fast-paced development environment with multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Knowledge of C2 applications, Open Mission Systems (OMS), and Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI)
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in an engineering field Nice If You Have: Experience in supporting acquisition programs and government clients and in collaboration with U.S. Combatant Commands
Experience with advanced data applications
Experience with distributed data architectures and Data Bus, Data Ops, and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) technologies
Experience reviewing and assessing existing enterprise data-driven applications to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing sustainment
Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build
Experience performing AI/ML on OMS/UCI workloads and data structures
Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving
Knowledge of containerized workloads and orchestration, including Docker, OpenShift, or upstream Kubernetes
