The main function of a data analyst is to investigate user and business compromise, build data pipelines, and discover new attack patterns and behaviors. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the understanding of compromise in business products, including product vulnerabilities and process gaps, through data analysis and deep investigation.
  • Play a central role in mitigating abuse on business products. Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams to inform strategic investment and develop solutions to mitigate and prevent future abuse at scale.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful signals and patterns that correlate with fraud and abuse. Develop and maintain data pipelines and detection rules that help measure and catch abuse.
  • Reverse-engineer scaled attacks and perform tactical mitigation of ongoing abuse against business products through rapid prototyping of investigations workflows and enforcement rules.
  • Investigate networks of malicious actors for on- and off-platform disruption.
  • There might be instances that require meetings and/or work outside of prescribed hours to account for collaboration with global teams in different time zones.

Job Responsibilities:
  • You will collaborate on a wide array of product and business problems with a diverse set of cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance and others
  • You will use data and analysis to identify and solve the biggest challenges
  • Write SQL and Python to understand user and business compromise systems. Write pipelines to measure progress against integrity goals
  • Discover and Identify new attack patterns and behaviors
  • You will influence product strategy and investment decisions with data, be focused on impact, and collaborate with other teams
Skills:
  • 2+ years of experience performing open-ended analyses and developing practical business insights and recommendations.
  • 1+ year of experience performing data analysis and building data pipelines, queries and reports with SQL or other languages/tools without dedicated data science support.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Python, PHP, R, or similar scripting languages for ad-hoc analytical tasks.
  • Ability to think critically and qualify assessments with strong presentation, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to own projects independently, and navigate complex problem areas and cross-functional teams with little supervision.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required.

  • Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
