Company: Hahn Stats, LLC D/B/A Hahn Agency Job Site Address: 5203 Brodie Lane, Austin, TX 78745 (Virtual and remote work embraced) QUALIFICATIONS: - Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics, Economics, Data Analysis, or a closely related statistical field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience with understanding or building quantitative or statistical models (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other science). - Minimum of 2 years of experience in at least one programming or scripting language (R, Python, SAS, SPSS, C, C , JavaScript, MATLAB, Maple, Mathematica). - Minimum of 2 years of experience with analyzing data in R (including the proven ability to connect to APIs, build functions, build RShiny Apps, etc.). - Minimum of 2 years of experience with visualizing data in Tableau or Power BI. - Minimum of 2 years of experience with gathering and combining data from government agencies, public APIs or similar. - Minimum of 1 year of experience with conducting regression analyses, sentiment analyses, cluster analyses, and statistically analyzing surveys results. - Minimum of 1 year of experience in project management (a masters degree in project management counts). - Any experience in managing, teaching, or supervising data-centric projects. ALTERNATIVE QUALIFICATIONS: - Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Analysis, or a closely related statistical field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience with understanding or building quantitative or statistical models (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other science). - Minimum of 5 years of experience in at least one programming or scripting language (R, Python, SAS, SPSS, C, C , JavaScript, MATLAB, Maple, Mathematica). - Minimum of 5 years of experience with analyzing data in R (including the proven ability to connect to APIs, build functions, build RShiny Apps, etc.). - Minimum of 5 years of experience with visualizing data in Tableau or Power BI. - Minimum of 5 years of experience with gathering and combining data from government agencies, public APIs or similar. - Minimum of 4 years of experience with conducting regression analyses, sentiment analyses, cluster analyses, and statistically analyzing surveys results. - Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management (a masters degree in project management counts). - Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing, teaching, or supervising data-centric projects. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: - Develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect data through connections with external databases, APIs, and websites to build automated data collection methods; - Build, apply, and evaluate statistical tests to ensure data fidelity, value, validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy; - Process, analyze, and interpret data to derive indices and other intermediate metrics; - Work with our experienced staff, subject matter experts, and technical staff to develop meaningful statistical models to solve specific problems in many fields for our clients; - Work with our technical staff to build data visualizations, one-off reports, automated reports, APIs, and model-based applications; - Take good notes and turn those notes into model documentation; and - Build tools that help improve our model-building efficiency.
