Epsilon Systems Solutions is seeking a full time Damage Control/Firefighting Systems Subject Matter Expert II in San Diego, CA. Summary: The DC/Firefighting System Subject Matter Expert will provide full-time onsite technical support for the systems, subsystems and equipment contained in the Duties and Responsibilities section. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides troubleshooting, repair, assessment, and testing of U.S. Navy ships' systems: Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF), CO2, Halon and Heptafluoropropane (HFP) systems, Aqueous Potassium Carbonate (APC), Countermeasure Washdown (CMWD), Motor Gasoline (MOGAS), Fire, Main Drainage and Flushing Pumps and valves, Temporary Fire-Main Protection System, pumps and valves, Flame and Smoke ejection system, Water mist, saltwater sprinklers, Fire-main system piping,
Review Shipboard Temporary Fire Protection Plan by accomplishing friction and elevation loss calculations to determine the location of the most hydraulically remote station.
Provides On-Site (OS) and Distance Support (DS) technical assistance for ship HM&E related equipment casualties and repairs.
Completes Assessments or Fleet Technical Assists and provides repair recommendations to the branch head in an Assessment Report or TAVR format as required for review and issuance on the equipment.
Conducts ship visits to provide technical guidance for repairs, troubleshooting or testing as requested for urgent or routine requests.
Reviews the adequacy of the onboard ILS, PMS, PQS and validates the current equipment configuration.
Conducts on-the-job training for Ships Force Maintenance personnel. The training must include adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting techniques and equipment/personnel safety.
Communicates with and conduct a debrief of cognizant Ships Force personnel reporting conditions found, repairs completed and/or required and training conducted with current operational condition. Any unresolved conditions must be briefed to the ship's Commanding Officer and Chief Engineer with corrections required. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent
6 years' experience with maintaining and repairing U.S. Navy firefighting systems
Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Holds an active DoD Secret Security Clearance Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $32.30 To $35.00 Hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. ADA Notations: Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs
Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels
May ride ships at sea for extended periods
Employee may be required to travel to different RMCs or Naval Ship locations. Travel may include extended underway periods and travel outside of the continental United States.
