Duties and Responsibilities: Effectively manages personnel to include staffing, conflict resolution training and competency development and annual performance evaluations. Demonstrates sound financial management to include monitoring of budget, inventory control and cost efficiency/cost savings projects Effectively communicates with staff and builds rapport through staff meetings, education/training, interdepartmental activities, community service and customer relations Performs microscopic screening of gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA) slide, for the detection of precancerous and cancerous conditions. Provides assistance adequacy assessment on Fine Needle Aspirate procedures. Writes and maintains current work instructions. Assist with development, maintenance and control of and procedures. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies for inspection readiness. Fulfills responsibilities for CLIA position as assigned. Participates in the quality improvement requirements of the laboratory quality management system. Participates in proficiency testing activities. Assists with collection and reporting of quality data. Responsible for technical consultation and problem resolution. Stays current with new technologie makes recommendations to management for improvements. Education/Qualifications: of Bachelor Degree in Cytotechnology required. Registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) with four years experience required.
