LinQuest is seeking a cybersecurity subject matter expert to join our team in Albuquerque, NM supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC). An active DoD SECRET clearance is required. Candidate selected will focus on Information Assurance and Risk Management Framework to support the AFNWC Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigation strategies. Responsibilities: Provide cybersecurity technical expertise of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and federal regulations, directives, and guidance to the AFNWC/NDS Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigations. This includes all aspects of a system's security life cycle, from developing and maintaining Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation to performing independent validation and verification of controls to on-going operational security support.
Identify, assess, and prioritize cybersecurity risks and required documentation across the entire NDS portfolio.
Support the update and maintenance of the AFNWC/NDS Risk Management Framework to current standards, guidelines, and approaches.
Coordinate with the AFWNC/NDS ISSM system owner to prepare, update, and maintain the necessary system security documentation for assessment and accreditation activities.
Provide expert analysis and recommendation on risk (to include impact and likelihood) and mitigation options for security findings, gaps, and vulnerabilities.
Update and maintain AFNWC/NDS ISSM's continuous monitoring program. This includes identifying and implementing continuous monitoring mechanisms, strategies, and approaches.
Support in the development of a monthly Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) report to track the status of all POA&Ms for AFNWC/NDS systems.
Advise and support in the development of a quarterly software lifecycle report.Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor's degree desired, and 10+ years of related experience working to protect and defend systems and networks from cybersecurity threats.
Meet the IAT Level II security certification requirements required by DoDD 8140.01-M; CISSP is highly desired.
Expertise in understanding, quantifying and providing risk mitigation strategies for any security findings, gaps and program vulnerabilities.
Experience in security life cycle management, including validation and verification in direct support of NIST regulations and guidance.
Demonstrate proficient writing skills to provide finished briefing products, fully developed correspondence packages and policy document reviews and recommendations.
Have strong technical expertise and skills using MS Office products (word, excel, teams etc.)
Demonstrate ability to work productively with diverse organizations across the DoD and agencies.
Able to work in a secure, confined locationPreferred Skills/Experience: Cybersecurity for nuclear weapon systems is highly desired
