Position Summary: The Quality Technician performs specified tests on manufactured products to ensure conformance to specifications using known formulations. The Technician provides production support by verifying quality from start-up to run completion. If nonconformities are detected, promptly inform the production and Quality Supervisor. Position Requirements/Preferred Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) preferred. 5S, Lean, or Green Belt Training are a plus. Career Development or other certifications are a plus. Experience: Solid work history with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience needed with lab or manufacturing preferred. Some work experience leading others preferred. Skills: Basic Math including Algebra. Fluent in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills (arrange/format data, create and format charts, etc.) . Additional computer skills are a plus. Safety: Operate equipment wearing proper protective equipment; Complete safety training punctually. Report unsafe working conditions and equipment problems. Follow all plant safety protocols always. Troubleshooting: Demonstrates mechanical aptitude by operating and understanding all required quality testing equipment and troubleshooting machine problems or operation errors that affect quality. Personal growth: Improve job performance by keeping relevant knowledge and skills current. Attend plant and department and plant meetings unless excused by the Quality Manager. Teamwork: Promotes harmonious worker relations. Conveys quality problems in a timely fashion to the supervisor by informing them of quality problems. Contribute to the success of the department and plant by helping others. Organization: Keeps work area clean and organized; attention to detail; effective time management; ability to meet deadlines; communicating product status. Continuous Improvement: Participate in Gage R&R, Kaizen, 5S, Lean events, and work with supervisor to eliminate barriers. Communication: Communicate orally and in writing in a professional manner that is clear, fluent, concise, and readily understood by the intended recipient(s). Also, update quality testing results, record labor, and sending shift updates daily. Flexibility: You will be assigned a regular schedule but, as needed, will need to modify work hours. Analytical Skills: Information Gathering: Seeks all relevant information for problem-solving and decision-making; consults widely, probes the facts, analyzes issues from different perspectives. Judgment: Makes rational, realistic, sound decisions after considering all available facts and alternatives; holds self and staff responsible for individual choices, actions, and impact. Problem Analysis: Breaks problem into constituent parts and differentiates critical elements from the irrelevant or trivial; makes proper use of logic and draws sound inferences from information available.
