As the Chief Underwriting Officer Construction and Energy - Americas, you will embody these values, lead the Americas Construction and Energy and Underwriting unit, be responsible for developing and executing on the Americas strategy for these segments, while working with the region's other underwriting business leaders and partners and our Global Underwriting Office. This role has full P&L responsibility and reports directly to the Head of Large Clients, Americas, as part of the Underwriting Leadership team in the Americas Region. You'd be joining a group of talented and collaborative professionals. DISCOVER your opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include? Lead and grow the Construction and Energy underwriting team in the Americas, which includes the Bermuda, Canada, and the United States. Drive Construction and Energy growth by identifying new markets (e.g., new channels, new products) and by further developing existing markets (e.g., deeper relationships with existing brokers and clients) as measured by new premium and market share growth or profitable GWP growth in new books of business. Development and successful execution of a strategy that returns profitable growth in the segment by delivering on all four of our strategic drivers: solutions that matter most, valued beyond the policy, data that deepens relationships and focused, fit & fast. Coordinate/facilitate/lead new business, renewals, re-pricings, restrictions, special acceptances, commutations and cancellations in determining risk acceptability & coverage, in accordance with underwriting guidelines and authorities. Optimize allocation of capacity across regions, sub-products, and client segments to highest margin opportunities. Responsible for the use of and development of metrics that will enable underwriters to make better decisions regarding deployment of the firm's capital. Ensure adherence to the underwriting authorities and guidelines as approved; cascade/rescind Underwriting authority as needed throughout the product line. Develop and execute on business financial and operational plans. Support product management and innovation by developing analytical rigor, capabilities and processes that will enable the team to achieve their growth and profitability targets. Develop and execute on a Regional strategy to meet the Construction and Energy needs of customers of all segments of the market, and act as the primary liaison with the Global Head of Energy Transition and Global Chief Underwriting Officer in the evolution of our AXA Group-wide Energy ambition. The U.S. pay range for this position is USD $250,000 - $350,000. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience, and location.
