JOB SUMMARY The CT Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic CT procedures according to established protocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. Performs computed tomography (CT) procedures by selecting correct exposure factors, algorithms and scan fields while utilizing the assessment of patient age and diagnosis to produce technically accurate cross sectional images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis and treatment. Participates in complex invasive CT examinations by assisting the Radiologist or Physician's Assistant using proper sterile technique and producing CT images. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiography program. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred Experience: Previous CT Technologist with venipuncture experience preferred. Licensure, Certification, Registration: Connecticut state Radiographer license required. CT Advanced certification by ARRT required within 12 months of job entry date. Failure to meet this requirement will result in termination or transfer out of CT Technologist job. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements Experience with PACS and digital Technology. Knowledge of cross-section anatomy preferred. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Ability to handle different patient population including difficult patients. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. We take great care of careers.
