SUMMARY

In conjunction with Diagnostic Imaging leadership, performs plans, directs and supervises the CT operations and patient care activities while maintaining a consistent level of quality. Maintains CT services in accordance with established hospital standards and Federal and State standards.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Clifton Springs Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Imaging

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, Day Shift, Specific hours optional

ATTRIBUTES

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assures compliance for current licensure/certification on all staff.
  • Maintains accountability for patient care and image quality in the CT area.
  • Attends Leadership meetings and cascades information to CT staff.
  • Responsible for participating in the interview process and making recommendations for hiring of staff as needed.
  • Performs Annual Performance appraisals and ensures mandatory in-services are completed within set time frame.
  • Technologists are trained and provided with current updated procedural changes in the CT Section of the department.
  • Performs a variety of routine and advanced CT procedures while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety.
  • Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam.
  • Maintains CT equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital process and procedure. Equipment malfunctions are reported immediately to leadership & Clinical Engineering as appropriate.
  • Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures.
  • Assists with CT Quality Assurance program and ACR Accreditation if applicable.
  • Provides on-call coverage for CT Section of Radiology.
  • Responsible for providing monthly work schedules for assigned staff.
  • Responsible for reviewing and sign off for overtime submitted by staff.
  • Establishes and oversees policies and procedures for patient and staff safety related to CT.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two year college certificate or equivalent.

• Five years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist

• One year experience in CT.


Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

• NYS License in Radiologic Technology.

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT), CT credentials preferred.

AAS: Radiologic Technology (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED), RTC - Radiologic Technologist certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
