Posting Information Western Carolina University invites applications for the position of Temporary Part-Time Salaried Communication Sciences and Disorders Instructor/Clinical Supervisor. This position will provide clinical instruction and supervision of graduate students working in WCU's Speech and Hearing Clinic up to 20 hours per week. Responsibilities include teaching and supervision of graduate students as they provide clinical management for individuals with communication and swallowing impairments. Responsibilities also include coordinating weekly planning meetings with students, observing sessions in progress, co-treating with students as part of the educational experience, and keeping daily/weekly records specific to student and client progress. This position shares treatment results with families and other stakeholders as allowed under clinical confidentiality agreements and conducts on-going daily data management specific to client and student performance. This is a temporary time-limited salaried position which does not receive benefits. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position Ability to effectively interact with clientele with diverse hearing, language and speech impairments. Ability to effectively impart knowledge to graduate student clinicians through clinical management instruction and supervision. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in field of Speech-Language Pathology; ASHA certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP); eligibility for or current North Carolina SLP license; and demonstrated experience supervising student clinicians at varying levels of their graduate program. Preferred Qualifications Strong team skills; experience mentoring students and others; clinical experiences across the lifespan.
