The Opportunity: Critical Care Technician - Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit - Lunder 6 Why This Role Is Important? The Lunder 6 Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit is a twenty-two-bed unit dedicated to the treatment of neuroscience patients who require intensive medical and nursing management. The patients cared for in this unit include acute embolic stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, seizure, head injury, spinal cord injury, post-surgical and post-interventional. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. Lunder 6 is seeking a Critical Care Tech, with Day and Night availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. What are we looking for? CCT assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care. Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
