Crane Operator

Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring Crane Operators for our operation in Lima, Ohio. The Crane Operator is a member of our Machining Department responsible for operating an overhead crane to facilitate movement of product and materials for machining and inspection operations. Crane Operators in Machining start at $22.20 an hour. Some training for this role will be done on 1st shift before employee is transitioned to 3rd shift. Responsibilities: Pre-operation inspection and testing of crane and associated equipment Operation of overhead (cab) crane Communication with operators and employees on floor Timely reporting of equipment problems and issues Maintaining all equipment and documentation needed for crane operation Perform other department duties, as assigned Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions: Must be comfortable working at heights Must be capable of standing for long periods of time Exposed to seasonal temperature changes Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Previous experience with heavy equipment operation required Previous overhead crane experience preferred Strong attention to detail Must be able to work any shift, including some weekends Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen Classification: Hourly Benefits: Eligible after 90 days; Includes medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, and paid holidays Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
