Crane Operator

Man-Up Crane Operator 1st shift 5:30 am - 4:00 pm; 2nd shift 4:00 pm - 2:30 am Union Metal Industries Corp. is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to fill the Man-Up Crane Operator role to move material in bays, observe floor for safety, and manage and observe the flow of material on the floor. This individual will initial start training on 1st shift with an eventual move to 2nd shift. Hourly, Non-Exempt Position Responsibilities Perform Daily shift Crane inspection Safely move material with the crane from one station to another Obey hook up rules and able to balance load while moving material Work with other employees on the floor during hook up Clean area at end of shift Other duties as assigned Skills Understanding of production procedures. Adhere to health and safety regulations (constant use of safety gear) Attention to detail Ability to work with a team and good communication skills High school diploma or equivalent Tools Required Crane, any other tool needed for the job Physical Qualifications Individual must: Be able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs. Be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb and walk for extended periods of time Be able to work in all types of temperatures Be UMIC certified Crane Operator Pass DOT physical Be able to tolerate bouncing/vibration in the crane Have good mobility in neck and back PPE Requirements Steel toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves and face shield, hard hat (when out of crane)
