Attention. $1000 SIGN ON BONUS.Gateway Rehab Center has a dynamic opportunity for a Counselor Technician in its Ohioville, PA location. In this role, you will facilitate programming and assure the integrity of the therapeutic milieu. This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for residents.
Responsibilities:- Facilitates discussion groups and activities.
- Monitors patient behavior.
- Conducts handbook orientation.
- Assists with phone calls to family members/friends and referral sources.
- Assists with crises intervention.
- Transports patients to meetings.
- Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
- Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:- Knowledge of 12 step programs and/or addictions preferred.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Requirements: Work Conditions: - Favorable working conditions.
- Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
- Minimal physical demand.
- Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
Additional Requirements:- A valid driver's license and favorable driving record required.
- Pass PA Criminal History Record Check
- Obtain PA Childline and FBI clearances.
- Pass Drug Screen
- TB Test
- Must have at least 18 months in recovery from substance dependence.
