Serves as a key member of the Counseling and Wellness Center. Develop, conduct, and manage multiple student projects and programs including student advocacy, academic skill building/education planning, personal skill building and resource connection. Assist the Coordinator of the Counseling and Wellness Center with development and planning initiatives that focus on student success and retention. Participate in the evaluation, review, and development of learning outcomes for all department programs and initiatives. Uses holistic wellness model to provide comprehensive support to students on issues that may interfere with academic success. Stays current on prevalent topics such as the 8 dimensions of well, resources on and off campus, anxiety and stress, depression, relationships, domestic violence, suicide, self-image, bullying and anger management. Intervenes and responds to crisis situations. Provides culturally competent support to all students with an emphasis on underrepresented and underserved student populations. Conducts support groups and workshops that provide students with opportunities for self-exploratory growth and the development of resiliency skills. Provides comprehensive support to the student body by identifying barriers to academic success. Common support provided includes academic skill building and assisting students with education planning, including but not limited to re-entry into the academic environment, increasing specific skill sets for successful class completion, understanding decision-making and navigating the college environment. Designs and coordinates educational events, guest speakers, interactive presentations, and programming on prevalent topics, including facilitating awareness and prevention months for the campus community. Acts as a student advocate and makes appropriate referrals to on campus and community resources. Provides education to faculty and staff on prevalent topics to assist students on campus. Stays current on changes within the college and higher education at large including strategies to enhance proactive intervention approaches. Assists with the planning, coordination, and evaluation of outreach programs for specific populations including retention activities to support student success. Assists the Coordinator of C&WC with updating memorandum of agreements and mental health resources created and distributed by the office. Collaborates with members of the department and the campus community to develop innovative student development and retention strategies as well as programs for a variety of at-risk populations including, but not limited to, athletes, probation and dismissal students, underrepresented students, LGBTQ+ populations. Contributes to the department's strategic planning initiatives. Assists in the department's outcomes and assessment data collection and reporting. Evaluates and review learning outcomes for workshops and programs of responsibility. Qualifications - Education Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or closely related field. Professional or Associate License required. Qualifications - Experience Minimum of 3-5 years working in a higher education, community college setting preferred. Qualifications - Skills Skills in the following areas preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office, crisis Intervention, bi-lingual, excellent written and communication skills. Work Hours Evening and some Saturdays during the academic year
