Our client is a leading manufacturer in the precision machining industry, specializing in producing high-quality components for various sectors, including aerospace, automotive, medical devices, and more. We are seeking a motivated Quoting/Estimator to join our client's team. This position comes with a full suite of benefits, competitive salary, and more.

Base Salary: $60,000-$80,000/yr.

Position Summary:

As a Quoting/Estimator you will play a crucial role in the sales process by accurately estimating project costs, preparing sales quotations, and collaborating with the sales team to secure new business. This role requires a keen understanding of machining processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Cross-collaborate with Sales Manager to ensure RFQ's (Request for Quotes) are processed in an accurate and timely manner.

Prepare detailed and competitive quotations for customers. Ensure that quotations are clear, complete, and submitted within agreed-upon timelines.

Prepare detailed cost estimate reports which includes identifying all materials, tooling, & methods to manufacture precision machined parts and assemblies.

Review and verify customer's documentation, specifications and drawings to ensure the quote will properly reflects the customer's needs.

Work closely with production control, quality control and purchasing to ensure accuracy, lead time and material needs can be met.

Communicate with customers to clarify project details, provide technical assistance, and answer questions related to quotations and estimates.

Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor pricing strategies, and market conditions to ensure our quotations remain competitive.

Maintain accurate records of quotations, estimates, and customer communications. Track and report on the success rate of quotations.

Analyze the costs associated with completed projects to refine estimating accuracy over time.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience), preferred.

3 or more years of proven experience as an estimator or similar role, required.

Understanding of machining processes, materials, and precision machining manufacturing.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, technical documents, and CAD files.

Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., ERP systems, CAD/CAM software, Microsoft Office).

Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
